2.0 Comes to Companies via Front Line Employees

I thought that this one was kind of funny. It brings to mind the 1990’s when companies would have their employees sign up for AOL IM when the employer was not interested in paying for a secure service to accomplish the same goal.

“Social software is a trend that cannot be ignored,” he added. “It is bringing about fundamental change to the way people expect to communicate with one another. Companies cannot use social tools with their customers and not also allow their employees to utilize them.”

The Media Post article goes on to say that workers are now producers and that this is a fundamental change and that the repercussions of it may  be a few years off in the future.
